The Lower Silesian Mountain Running Festival is an exceptional event, also because on the last day of the Festival, runners have the opportunity to support a noble cause. It is a tradition that on Sunday morning, the participants of the DFBG event run for Piszkowice as part of the 10 KM long Trojak Trail. What does it mean? Trojak Trail is a charity run from which the total income is allocated to the Care and Treatment Centre in Piszkowice.
The facility takes care of disabled children with deep and moderate intellectual and physical disabilities. Currently 48 children stay in the facility, most of them are bedridden, without contact with those around and in need of 24/7 care.
This great tradition of helping children from Piszkowice evolved in cooperation with Mrs. Henryka Szczepanowska, who is boundlessly dedicated to working with the patients of the facility, and the major event of that day of the Festival, next to the above mentioned race, is the "Auction for Piszkowice".
Trojak Trail Run, despite its charitable nature, is of course a mountain run, ideal for all those who not only want to help, but also try their hand in trail- and mountain running. In this race, it is not the time that matters most by help for the children who need it, so the time limit of the race is as long as 3 hours. You can surely do it!
Registration in the competition office lasts until the last moment - the start of the race is at 10:00 a.m. We warmly invite you!
After the race, on Sunday, at 13:00, we organize the "Auction for Piszkowice", to which we invite you. It will be held in the Band Shell (Muszla Koncertowa) next to the Race Office and the finish line of the races in Lądek Zdrój. The money raised during the auction will supplement the income from the Trojak Trail race and will be donated in full to the children from the Care and Treatment Centre in Piszkowice.
At this year's auction we raise money for a specialized multifunctional wheelchair for 11-year-old Adaś who is a patient of the Facility in Piszkowice.
Adas who is 11, has been in the Care and Treatment Centre since his birth. Adaś has no legs. Having undergone years of rehabilitation, fight for his health, overcoming numerous diseases thanks to Ania and Dominik - his physiotherapists, and Joanna who provides logopedic care to Adaś, as well as thanks to the efforts of many doctors, nurses and teachers Adaś has become a super cool, cheerful boy. He is a pupil of our Special Primary School in Piszkowice. Thanks to Mirela, who puts all her heart into taking care of Adaś, he has a feeling of being with the family. It’s because all our children are like a real family.
We have to buy a wheelchair for Adaś, specially tailored to his needs and adapted to his physical abilities, so that he can move more easily. The cost of this wheelchair is about 25 thousand zlotys. Your good hearts are the only chance for Adaś to get new options of moving around and make his life at least a little bit easier. It’s time to leave his old wheelchair from which he "grew up".
Last year, together, we managed to raise PLN 21 713.64.
